Last week, Elkhorn Elementary's first graders completed their CKLA Knowledge 8 unit on animals and habitats. To wrap up this engaging unit, students showcased their creativity by researching and designing their own habitats using paper plates. They also dressed up as their favorite animals, bringing their learning to life in a fun and interactive way.
The district is proud of the students' enthusiasm and the innovative teaching methods that make learning both enjoyable and effective. This activity aligns with the Kentucky Academic Standard for first grade science, specifically KAS 1-LS1-1, which involves using materials to design solutions to problems related to the survival of plants and animals.
Next up for these budding scholars is the fairy tale unit, promising more exciting learning opportunities and creative celebrations. We eagerly anticipate seeing the imaginative projects and activities they have planned.
Stay tuned for the next part of their journey by checking out their Facebook page! Inspiration and photo credit: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1FPC14i38Q/?mibextid=wwXIfr
