Today marks 238 years since the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787—the foundation of our democracy and the guiding document of our nation.
At Franklin County High School, the social studies teachers proudly wore themed shirts to celebrate the Constitution’s 238th birthday! 🎉
Across FCS, we continue to honor the values of liberty, justice, and civic responsibility. Whether students are exploring the Bill of Rights or engaging in thoughtful discussions about current events, today reminds us all of the enduring power of “We the People.”
Happy Constitution Day to all!

After 43 incredible years of service, Butch Riddle is officially retiring from his role as a bus driver with Franklin County Schools and what a legacy he leaves behind. His dedication, reliability, and care for generations of students have made him a beloved member of the school family and a true hometown hero.
Whether it was early mornings, snowy roads, or the everyday hustle of keeping kids safe and on time, Butch showed up with heart and commitment. Last night’s celebration by the transportation team was a well-deserved tribute to a career that touched countless lives.
Let’s all take a moment to thank Butch, celebrate his journey, and wish him joy, rest, and adventure in this next chapter. Franklin County won’t be the same without him behind the wheel but his impact will keep rolling on.
👏 Thank you, Butch. You’ve earned every bit of this moment.

This past Friday, we heard a familiar voice in the press box and had to go say hello. To our surprise, we found a group of FCHS’ biggest fans! These gentlemen are instrumental in keeping the play-by-play running smoothly in the press box.

Before our morning and afternoon routes, our bus drivers conduct a safety check on their buses to ensure they meet all safety standards. This is just one of the many important tasks they undertake each day. Thank you, bus drivers!

Franklin County Schools are ALL IN for Ag Education Week! 🎉
From September 15–19, our schools are celebrating the vital role agriculture plays in education, community, and creativity. At Bridgeport Elementary, students in Mrs. Huff’s Art Class have been diving into the rich tradition of quilting, an art form deeply rooted in agricultural history.
🎨 Through a Collaborative Quilt project, students explored how quilting has evolved over time and how artists continue to innovate. They studied the work of Libs Elliot, a contemporary Canadian artist known for blending traditional quilting with modern technology, sparking inspiration and creativity in the classroom.
In addition to the quilt, students celebrated DOT Day by creating flower pot artwork, connecting the themes of growth, agriculture, and artistic expression. Mrs. Huff’s vision brought together art and ag in a meaningful way that highlights the power of cross-curricular learning.
Franklin County Schools are proud to support experiences that connect students to Kentucky’s agricultural heritage while fostering creativity and innovation. We’re ALL IN for Ag Education! 🌾🧵
Also- one more shoutout for our BPE Art Teacher, Mrs. Huff for the outstanding vision she had!
