Franklin County Schools (FCS) is proud to announce that the Franklin County High School (FCHS) Choristers are taking their voices to one of the biggest stages in the country this holiday season.

On Saturday, December 5th, 46 of our students will perform at EPCOT’s America Gardens Theatre in Walt Disney World for the Candlelight Processional. The Flyers will collaborate with 150 other high school singers from across the nation, accompanied by a 50-piece live orchestra and Disney’s world-renowned acappella ensemble, the Voices of Liberty. Sharing the stage with the choir as this year's celebrity narrator for the weekend is Academy Award-winner Whoopi Goldberg.

The Flyers auditioned to be selected for the performance. Before the previous school year ended, FCHS submitted a video recording of their spring concert alongside a required piece by Disney’s entertainment team. This is the second time the FCHS Choristers have earned a spot in the show.

"One of the highlights of teaching choral music at FCHS is giving our students every opportunity to experience collaboration and connection with other people through music," says Raye Hurley, FCHS Choral Director. "From daily classes at 1100 East Main to performing on a national stage at Disney, it's really about that journey and connection through song."

The Choristers are currently preparing a total of 14 pieces, including three processional hymns and 11 holiday classics that will tell the traditional story of Christmas.

The community can attend the “Preview Candlelight Processional Concert” hosted by the FCHS Choristers before they leave for Florida. The concert will be on Tuesday, November 17th at 7:00 PM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. The performance will feature 8 of the 11 songs.
