Franklin County Schools (FCS) is proud to announce that Western Hills High School (WHHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA) earned top honors in two key competitive events.
In the National Conduct of Chapter Meeting event, the team earned a Silver Rating. The competition is designed for freshman-aged students who qualify at state and compete nationally as sophomores. Participants are tested on their ability to run a structured, democratic meeting with opening and closing ceremonies, correct parliamentary procedure, and improvised debates. The team includes Quinn Zinner (President), Avery Bishop (Vice President), Aniston Comer (Secretary), Graham MacDonald (Treasurer), Campbell Goins (Reporter), Kaleigh Payton (Sentinel), and Charlie Ross (Advisor).

In the National Senior Parliamentary Procedure event, the team earned a Bronze Rating. This competition tests participants’ knowledge of parliamentary procedure. Students must present well-reasoned arguments, debate, and demonstrate precise meeting-leadership skills. This rigorous process can even qualify students to become registered parliamentarians. The team includes Canaan Fisher (President, Cris Shea (Secretary), Maddie Napier, Isabella Negron, Kat Shea, and Stephen Lemon.

During the national competition, students are required to pass a written exam, perform an error-free live meeting demonstration, and defend their actions during a live oral questioning by the judges.
The National FFA Agriscience Fair is a key competition that is part of the annual National FFA Convention & Expo, Oct. 21-24, 2026, in Indianapolis. To qualify, FFA members working as individuals or teams in grades 7 through 12 are required to conduct a scientific research project pertaining to the agriculture or food science industries and win their state’s FFA Agriscience Fair.
First-place winners in each state qualified for the national pre-qualifying judging. The panel of judges reviewed entries and selected a maximum of 10 in each category and division to move on to the next stage of national competition.
WHHS had a historic performance at the state level by winning both the Conduct of Chapter Meeting Contest and the Senior Parliamentary Procedure Contest. WHHS has claimed back-to-back state titles in the Conduct contest and has placed consistently in the top three statewide in Senior Parliamentary over the past two years.
Adding to the chapter’s success, Ayla Tolentino earned 2nd place at nationals in the FFA Agri-Science Fair under the Social Science Systems Division. Tolentino earned her spot on the national stage following her performance at the state-level competition, where she took 1st place in Division 1 Social Systems while completing her eighth-grade year at Bondurant Middle School. This marked her second consecutive trip to the national event, where she placed 8th in the nation last year.
