Franklin County Schools (FCS) is proud to announce that Western Hills High School senior Elias Chavez has officially broken the school’s all-time career soccer scoring record, accumulating 107 goals and counting as the current season continues.
Chavez surpassed the previous school record of 98 goals held by Austin McClease. With 34 goals scored so far this season, he is currently tied for first place in total goals across the state. He is also on other KHSAA state leaderboards, including placing in the top ten for total points (goals - 2 points, assists - 1 point) and top-five rankings in both total shots taken and shots on goal.
Chavez has been a four-year starter for the WHHS boys varsity soccer team. He has been named an All-Regional Pre-Season player twice and was named the KHSAA Post-Season All-Regional Player as a sophomore.
This milestone comes with a strong season for the Wolverines, who currently hold an overall record of 10-4-2. WHHS will close out the regular season with a three-game home stretch.

“I have had the pleasure of coaching Elias and watching him grow not only as a player but as a person. I couldn't be more proud of the young man he is becoming,” said Marquee Dawson, WHHS Men’s Soccer Head Coach. “He has matured into a well-rounded player and has dedicated himself to getting better and making those around him better to accomplish success. He has been an amazing captain and ambassador for this program. This accomplishment is well deserved.”
