Frankfort, KY – November 24, 2025 – We are always grateful in Franklin County Schools but this is something to be extra thankful for... The Western Hills Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) proudly announced the successful completion of its annual Shoebox Service Project, a community initiative designed to bring joy and essential supplies to children and families in need.
Members of the chapter collected toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other small gifts, carefully packing them into shoeboxes to be distributed through local charitable organizations. The project not only provides tangible support but also reflects the NHS’s core values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
This project is a wonderful way for our students to give back to the community while learning the importance of compassion and service. Each shoebox represents the generosity and teamwork of our members, and we are thrilled to see the impact it will have.
The Shoebox Service Project has become a cherished tradition at Western Hills, with students, faculty, and families contributing to its success. By working together, the chapter demonstrates how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others.
Way to go, Wolverines.
