AFJROTC stands with flag

FRANKFORT, KY – On Tuesday, November 11th, students, staff, and special guests at Franklin County High School (FCHS) gathered for a memorable Veterans Day ceremony. The tribute, which highlighted the exceptional talents and discipline of the school's own student organizations, was designed to honor the nation’s service members.

The assembly was a powerful, coordinated effort that showcased the deep respect and gratitude of the FCHS community.

The ceremony set a solemn and patriotic tone from the very beginning. The FCHS Flyer Band delivered a moving and flawless rendition of the National Anthem, captivating the audience.

The KY 20021 Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AFJROTC) program was central to the event, offering both demonstration and instruction. The cadets proudly taught the entire student body the proper, ceremonial method of folding the American Flag, providing a valuable, hands-on lesson in respect for this national symbol.

Further demonstrating their commitment and training, the AFJROTC teams executed their roles with impressive precision:

  • Color Guard: The Color Guard opened the tribute by performing an excellent posting of the colors.

  • Drill Team: The AFJROTC Drill Team followed up with a strong and highly disciplined performance, showcasing their dedication to service.
