Frankfort, Kentucky – The students and staff of Western Hills High School recently celebrated and expressed deep gratitude to the nation's heroes during a series of heartfelt Veterans Day assemblies. The events, held on November 11th, 2025, allowed the entire school community to pause and recognize the profound sacrifices made by military veterans.

The assemblies were a resounding success, filled with moving tributes and performances. The program included:

  • Musical Performances: The Wolverine Band and Choirs did an excellent job performing.

  • Student Participation: Students from the AFJROTC program showed the school how to fold the American Flag with dignity and pride.

  • Guest Speakers: The event featured National Guard guest speakers who shared their experiences and underscored the importance of honoring the commitment of those who serve.

  • The Wolverine Band and Majorettes marched in the Veteran's Day parade downtown.

The sentiment shared across the school community was one of overwhelming gratitude.

"We hope our students and their families have enjoyed these Veterans Day assemblies as much as we enjoyed hosting and sharing them," said Stella Pollard, our district's Director of Technology and publications contact. "We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our schools, our town, our state, and our country. To all veterans, today and every day… thank you for your service."

The assemblies were captured through photography and video, showcasing the student-led tributes and the many veterans who attended. These visual elements are now being shared on the school's website to allow the entire community to view and appreciate the tributes.
