FRANKFORT, KY – [November 5th, 2025] – The Franklin County Career and Technology Center (CTC) hosted its inaugural SkillsUSA Car Show this past weekend, successfully raising critical funds to send students to the upcoming State Leadership Conference.

The event, held at the CTC, drew a strong crowd of community members and automotive enthusiasts, all supporting the school's dedicated SkillsUSA chapter.
Student-Driven Success
The idea for the fundraiser originated with the students themselves. Mr. Ryan Shouse, our CTC Auto Body instructor and event organizer, explained the inspiration: "Several SkillsUSA members had been brainstorming ways to raise funds for the State Leadership Conference, and obviously our Automotive students have a love for cars so it just made sense."

The show featured dozens of vehicles competing for top honors. The official winners included:
Best Jeep: Kelly Rogers
Best Car: Tim Walton
Best Truck: Justin Webber
Showcasing the diverse skills taught at the CTC, the Student Choice Trophies were specially designed and fabricated by students enrolled in the school's Pre-Engineering and Information Technology programs.

Focus on the Future
The funds raised will directly support student travel and participation at the SkillsUSA State Leadership Conference, which takes place from March 30th to April 2nd in Louisville, KY. The conference provides students with the opportunity to test their technical and leadership skills against peers from across the state. The event also opens doors for careers and countless scholarships.
A special thank you is extended to Capital City Church for their sponsorship and to all community members who came out to support the students.

How to Help
Community members who wish to further assist the students on their journey to the State Leadership Conference can bring donations directly to the Franklin County CTC during business hours.
