Western Hills High School Art Teacher Janis Kirstein Exhibits Work at the Louvre in Paris
Frankfort, KY — October 23, 2025 — Western Hills High School is proud to announce that Fine Arts teacher Janis Kirstein has achieved a remarkable milestone: her artwork has been exhibited at the world-renowned Louvre Museum in Paris, France.
Ms. Kirstein’s piece, displayed on the left in a featured gallery photograph, stands out with its striking black background, layered brushstrokes, and abstract angular forms. The composition evokes both motion and emotion, reflecting a bold, expressive, and deeply intuitive style of art.
“I never would have believed that my works would be exhibited in the Louvre in Paris,” Kirstein shared in a public post. “You just never can tell…”
Known for her bold use of color and emotionally resonant imagery, Kirstein brings the same passion and creativity to her classroom at Western Hills High School, where she has taught Fine Arts for the past decade. Her students and colleagues describe her as a visionary educator who nurtures artistic confidence and encourages self-expression.
The Franklin County Schools district celebrates Kirstein’s accomplishment as a testament to the power of public education, creative exploration, and the enduring impact of dedicated teachers.
Congratulations, Ms. Kirstein. We are proud of you!
