FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Franklin County Student Honored by Kentucky State Senate for National FFA Achievement

Frankfort, KY — October 23, 2025 Franklin County Schools is proud to announce that Ayla Tolentino, a standout student and current VP member of Bondurant Middle School’s FFA chapter, was formally recognized by the Kentucky State Senate, with commendation from Senator Gex Williams, for her groundbreaking achievement as a national finalist in the FFA Agriscience Fair.

Ayla’s project in the Plant Systems category earned her a top 10 national ranking—marking the first time a Bondurant student has reached this level of distinction in the Agriscience Fair. Her research, dedication, and leadership exemplify the values of Kentucky agricultural education and the spirit of innovation that FCS strives to cultivate in every student.

In a special ceremony at the Kentucky Capitol, Ayla Tolentino, Quinn Zinner, and Sophie Franklin were honored for making history as national finalists in the FFA Agriscience Fair—an unprecedented achievement for Bondurant Middle School. The recognition, led by Representative Chad Aull, celebrated the trio’s groundbreaking research and the broader impact of agricultural education across Kentucky.

Ayla’s achievement not only brings pride to Franklin County Schools but also serves as an inspiration to young scientists and agricultural leaders across Kentucky. Her work reflects the power of curiosity, collaboration, and COURAGE; values at the heart of the FCS mission.
