Franklin County High School | Class of 2018
Franklin County Schools is proud to highlight the stories of resilience and transformation among our alumni. This week, we’re honored to feature Chairity Burger, a 2018 graduate of Franklin County High School, whose journey is a powerful testament to growth, perseverance, and the impact of a supportive school community.
🌟 A Life Transformed
Chairity candidly reflects on her early years as a student, describing herself as “a menace rather than a joy to have in class.” But everything changed during her sophomore year when she became pregnant. With the support of her teachers and school staff, she found the strength to turn her life around.
“They supported me through my whole pregnancy and after. I fell once going up the stairs and the principal at the time said, ‘We can’t have that, here’s an elevator key.’ They heard me, they saw me, and they supported me.”
That support helped Chairity build a new path forward—one filled with purpose and passion.
👩🏫 A Passion for Teaching
Right after high school, Chairity became a preschool teacher, quickly discovering her calling in early childhood education. She is now finishing her Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Kentucky University, continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
💙 Full Circle
Now 25, Chairity is a proud mom of two boys and shares her life with the love of her life. Her children are now students in the same school system that once supported her.
“Thank you, Franklin County, for believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. Now you are taking care of my two babies, and I couldn’t be happier because I know they are in great hands—just like I was.”
