Sunday, June 1st Franklin County High School Drama Department made history as it participated in the first ever Bradley Awards.
The school was accepted into the Bradley program back in the fall after completing a rigorous application. Starting in January, the 16 participating schools were adjudicated during the run of their performances. Franklin County’s performance of The SpongeBob Musical earned 6 nominations, tying for the third most nominations in the region. This put FCHS in the top 5 of the region in those 6 categories.
On Sunday, June 1, FCHS, along with the other 15 schools, attended the awards ceremony at Whitney Hall in the Kentucky Center for the Arts in Louisville, KY. There, Lyvia McCutchen made history being the first to win the award for Most Oustanding Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance as Pearl Krabs.
Kelsie Thacker and Joey Webb, both nominated for Lead Actress and Actor respectively, performed in the Opening and Closing Numbers and well as medleys with the other Lead Actor and Actresses. Kenzie Rose and Holly Marshall represented the school in the showcase ensemble and also performed in the Opening and Closing numbers.
