At the recent Monday night board meeting, Franklin County Schools took a moment to shine a spotlight on the exceptional individuals who go above and beyond in their roles. Among the highlights of the evening was the celebration of our Champions of the Month—an initiative that recognizes outstanding staff members for their dedication, passion, and impact on our school community.
Each month, selected champions receive the prestigious FCS Champion Belt, a $50 VISA gift card generously provided by our community partner, Robinson Oil Company, and public recognition for their contributions. This month, we are thrilled to honor Mr. Travis Woodard of Collins Lane Elementary as our May Staff Champion.
Superintendent Kopp shared a heartfelt nomination submitted by CLE Principal Beth Lodmell, who praised Mr. Woodard’s unwavering commitment to the school’s performing arts program and his deep-rooted passion for student success. Since joining the CLE team, Travis has become a cornerstone of the school’s creative community—leading school plays, directing choir concerts, organizing events, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to experience the joy of music.
Principal Lodmell described Travis as someone who brings unmatched energy, creativity, and compassion to his work. She emphasized that his role extends far beyond teaching music—he serves as a mentor, a leader, and a vital part of the school’s culture and spirit.
Mr. Woodard’s dedication to fostering a love for the arts and creating inclusive, engaging experiences for students has left a lasting impression on the CLE community. His work exemplifies the spirit of the FCS Champion program—celebrating those who inspire, uplift, and lead with purpose.
Congratulations, Mr. Woodard! It is an honor to recognize you as our May Staff Champion of the Month. Thank you for your continued excellence and for making a difference in the lives of our students every day.
