The school’s logo and "PME" are visible.   Franklin County Schools is proud to recognize Matt Wagner, a dedicated educator at Peaks Mill Elementary, for being selected to serve on the Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) for Social Studies Review Committee.

Mr. Wagner will join a statewide team composed of teachers, higher education leaders, business professionals, and community members who will collaborate to review and revise the state’s social studies standards. This work, led by the American Institutes for Research in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), will take place over several meetings scheduled between April and September.

This opportunity highlights Mr. Wagner’s commitment to academic excellence and his ongoing leadership in the field of education. His voice and expertise will help ensure that Kentucky’s social studies standards remain relevant, rigorous, and responsive to the needs of today’s students.

Franklin County Schools congratulates Mr. Wagner on this well-deserved recognition. We are proud to have such passionate and knowledgeable educators representing our district at the state level.

Superintendent Mark Kopp said, “we are very proud of Mr. Wagner. He is a terrific leader for our district and for the state.”

Way to go, Mr. Wagner – and thank you for continuing to make Franklin County Schools a place where learning leads the way.
