We are proud to announce that Varshitha Ramesh, an 11th grader at Western Hills High School in Frankfort, has been named one of the winners of the 2024-2025 Essay Contest organized by Secretary of State Michael Adams. This is the second year in a row that she has won this contest! Varshitha's insightful essay addressed the question, "What can Kentuckians do to ensure that voters are well informed on policies and candidates?" and earned her recognition among high school students across Kentucky.

The essay contest, open to all high school students in the state, encourages young minds to engage with important societal issues and propose thoughtful solutions. Varshitha's essay stood out for its depth of understanding and innovative ideas, showcasing her exceptional writing skills and critical thinking.

Secretary Adams presented the awards to the winners during halftime at the KHSAA Sweet 16 tournament, highlighting the significance of the contest and the achievements of the students. Varshitha's accomplishment is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for making a positive impact in her community.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Varshitha Ramesh for this remarkable achievement. Her success is a source of pride for Western Hills High School, FCS, and an inspiration to her peers. We look forward to seeing the continued contributions of our students as they strive to make a difference in the world.
