The Summer Engineering Exploration Kamp (SEEK) is a one-week residential camp hosted by the University of Kentucky's Department of Civil Engineering. April 7th — April 11th is Franklin County Schools’ Spring Break.
School is not in session.
The flood waters are at a historic high, all of our buildings will be closed April 7th through April 9th.
All After School Programs (ASPs) are closed until at least April 9th
All activities and events from April 6th- April 9th are canceled
Flood Assistance Resources for Families
Due to recent flooding, some families may be displaced. For housing or emergency resources, contact your school’s FRYSC Coordinator or the Frankfort City Police at 502-821-9318.

As April quickly approaches, we find ourselves on the brink of another graduation season, filled with a mix of emotions for our school community.

Our Student Voice Committee (SVC) met after school on Monday! The students are working on some really cool projects that we know will make a large impact on our district for years to come. We cannot wait to share their creations with you once they're all finished!
The SVC is led by Director of Federal Programs, Cassandra Adams. Haleigh Huff, Wolverine Science Teacher and Becky Giles, FCS GT teacher, are a huge support for the committee!
Our district's Director of Technology, Stella Pollard, also joined to talk about websites, technology, and to check out their work!

She was nominated for her outstanding contributions to WHHS, where she teaches science. Mrs. Tope's dedication to her students and her innovative teaching methods have made a significant impact on the academic success and enthusiasm for science at WHHS.
In addition to her exceptional work at WHHS, Mrs. Tope recently led the BMS Science Olympiads to a successful regional competition. Her leadership and commitment to excellence have not only brought recognition to our school but have also inspired students to pursue their interests in science with passion and determination.

Once the screening is complete, families are informed if their child is eligible to receive interventions in an area of concern or if the family is eligible based on household income, pending income verification. Our WHHS Wolverines are on the ROAD to STATE! 🛣️💚
Please help us shout a huge congratulations to the members of the Western Hills Academic Team. WHHS advanced to the State Finals in many areas this past Saturday at the Governor’s Cup Regional competition. The competition was held at Mercer County High School.
The Quick Recall Team punched a ticket to state by making it to the championship match for the fourth time in four seasons, falling just short of reigning state champions Dunbar in a very close matchup. Members of Quick Recall include: Holland Riddell, Nathan Carpenter, Manas Garla, Ethan Applegate, Aziz Smaoui, Maribelle Hayden, Adrian Bennett, Malleshwar Suresh, Mery Jaminet, and Maeher Joshi.
Additionally, many Wolverines advanced to state in individual tests:

🥇Holland Riddell in Language Arts (🌟1st) and Arts and Humanities (3rd)

The State Journal published a fantastic article today about our school calendar! We appreciate their efforts in keeping our community informed. There was a small typo in the article, so here’s a friendly reminder:
🔔 March 14th, 2025 is an FCS District Staff Day with no student attendance.
🔔 March 17th, 2025 our schools will be open and in session as a make-up day.


Franklin County Schools will have NTI Day #8 tomorrow, Thursday, February 20, 2025. ASP’s will be open.
