In celebration of All In for Ag Education Week, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Ag Education and Outreach team has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to agricultural literacy across the Commonwealth. With the help of Franklin County FFA students, 750 Harvest Crate packages were packed and prepared for delivery to every public elementary school in Kentucky.

These crates are more than just boxes—they’re a gateway to hands-on learning, cross-curricular connections, and real-world agricultural awareness. Each one is filled with high-quality educational materials designed to support teachers and engage students in meaningful lessons about Kentucky’s agricultural heritage and future.

Inside each Harvest Crate, classrooms will find:

  • 📘 A 25-piece class set of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Agriculture Facts Books, perfect for 4th and 5th grade infographic lessons

  • 🗺️ A Kentucky Ag Commodity Map, provided by Kentucky Agriculture & Environment in the Classroom and the Kentucky Livestock Coalition, ideal for Social Studies integration

  • 🎨 A vibrant Kentucky Ag Poster from the UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment

  • 🌱 The Soy Much Fun Activity Book, courtesy of the Kentucky Soybean Board

  • 📖 And this year’s featured Ag Book of the Week, Rowdy Ringo by Marisa Betts, which will ship separately thanks to the generous support of CPC Commodities and Farm Credit Mid-America

These resources reflect the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s vision for empowering educators and students through agriculture. By connecting classrooms to the land, the people, and the industries that shape Kentucky, Ag Education Week continues to inspire the next generation of informed citizens and future leaders.

Educators can find lesson plans and additional resources in the official School Handbook at www.kyagr.com/AgEdWeek.
