Dasia Kilbourne’s journey from the classrooms and courts of Franklin County to a thriving professional career is a story of dedication, growth, and gratitude.
A proud graduate of Franklin County High School, Dasia began her educational path at Elkhorn Elementary and Elkhorn Middle School. Her hard work and talent earned her a full academic and athletic scholarship to Georgetown College, where she excelled both in the classroom and on the basketball court.
In 2020, Dasia graduated from Georgetown with dual bachelor’s degrees in Sports Administration and Communication and Media Studies. Shortly after, she returned to her hometown of Frankfort and began working at Commonwealth Credit Union, where she has now built a successful career for nearly five years.
Never one to stop learning, Dasia continued her education and earned her MBA from the University of the Cumberlands in 2023.
Reflecting on her journey, Dasia credits much of her success to the foundation built during her time in Franklin County Schools.
“I wouldn’t be anything I am today without the help of all my teachers and coaches within FCS. FCS brought me lifetime friends along the way. They helped me build character, taught me to be a lifelong learner, and helped my confidence immensely.”
Dasia Kilbourne is a shining example of what can be achieved through hard work, community support, and a commitment to personal growth. Her story continues to inspire students and alumni across Franklin County.
