Dear Community, This week Franklin County Schools lost two students. We are deeply saddened for the family and our school community. Our schools have a team of counselors and mental health support staff available as long as we need it. Dear Franklin County Families, April 7th — April 11th is Franklin County Schools’ Spring Break. School is not in session. The flood waters are at a historic high, all of our buildings will be closed April 7th through April 9th. All After School Programs (ASPs) are closed until at least April 9th All activities and events from April 6th- April 9th are canceled Flood Assistance Resources for Families Due to recent flooding, some families may be displaced. For housing or emergency resources, contact your school’s FRYSC Coordinator or the Frankfort City Police at 502-821-9318. #FCSYes | #OneTeamFCS

FCS Community, please see the message below from our School Safety Coordinator, Captain Abrams. "We are hearing rumors that some social media posts are falsely reporting that some FCS Schools are in lockdown. This is False. All schools are operating normally and there are no lockdowns in the district. " #OneTeamFCS

4.4.25 FCS Community, We need to cancel two bus routes this morning. The affected routes are: Bus 59: EMS & FCHS Bus 11: PME & ELV These buses serve the Peaksmill, Switzer, Hamilton Camp Pleasant, Snavely Road, and Lucas Lane areas. As April quickly approaches, we find ourselves on the brink of another graduation season, filled with a mix of emotions for our school community. 🎓 The Academy High School - May 21st @ 10 am - KSU's Bradford Auditorium 🎓 William Cofield High School - May 22nd @ 1 pm - KSU's Bradford Auditorium 🎓 Western Hills High School - May 24th @ 10 am - WHHS Football Field 🎓 Franklin County High School - May 24th @ 6 pm - FCHS Football Field Class of 2025, as you move forward, remember that you carry with you the support and encouragement of the entire FCS community. Our Student Voice Committee (SVC) met after school on Monday! The students are working on some really cool projects that we know will make a large impact on our district for years to come. We cannot wait to share their creations with you once they're all finished! The SVC is led by Director of Federal Programs, Cassandra Adams. Haleigh Huff, Wolverine Science Teacher and Becky Giles, FCS GT teacher, are a huge support for the committee! Franklin County School Community, The State Journal published a fantastic article today about our school calendar! We appreciate their efforts in keeping our community informed. There was a small typo in the article, so here’s a friendly reminder: 🔔 March 14th, 2025 is an FCS District Staff Day with no student attendance. 🔔 March 17th, 2025 our schools will be open and in session as a make-up day.
