July 16th, 2025 — Frankfort, KY— Franklin County Schools welcomed families and students to its annual Back to School Bash, a joyful celebration held in anticipation of the first day of school on Tuesday, August 13. The event was thoughtfully organized by Cassandra Adams, Director of Federal Programs, and brought together key community partners to support and uplift students as they prepare for the new academic year.
The Bash featured engaging activities, school readiness resources, and opportunities for families to connect with programs that serve the whole child. Attendees enjoyed booths and support from the Literacy Program, Family Resource and Youth Services Centers (FRYSC), and New Vista, each offering tools and guidance to help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
“We’re so grateful to Cassandra Adams and all our partners for creating such a welcoming and supportive event,” said Dr. Tammy McDonald, our district's Chief Academic Officer and Assistant Superintendent. “The Back to School Bash reflects the heart of Franklin County Schools—where community, care, and student success come together.” Cassandra can be seen pictured below wit with her son, Joe.
With the first day of school quickly approaching, Franklin County Schools is excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and connection. The district looks forward to welcoming students back on August 13, ready to build on the momentum of a strong start.
