Open Records Requests

Pursuant to Board policy and the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 – 61.884, public records of the Franklin County Board of Education not exempted by law are open for inspection by the public upon receipt of a written request.

Effective June 29, 2021, The Kentucky legislature has changed the time period for responses under the Open Records Act.  All responses will be provided no later than 5 business days after receipt of the request. FCS will notify applicants of the availability of the records requested or of any reason why the records are not available for inspection. Individuals may inspect nonexempt records during regular administrative office hours (Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm) or may request paper copies for $0.10 per page plus the cost of postage.
