Important Update from FCS Food Service

FCS Food Service Update

We have some terrific news to share!

On August 31, 2020, the USDA granted additional flexibility to school districts by extending the Summer Food Service Program, easing some federal requirements and allowing us to offer meals to anyone 18 years of age and under as we typically do each summer.

What does this mean for us?

We can focus more on what we love to do, which is feeding kids, and less on paperwork and regulations.

What does this mean for our students, families, and our community?

  • We will be able to feed more children.  All children 18 and under in our county are eligible to receive meals at no charge.

  • We will continue to offer Monday and Thursday meal kits.  Families are asked to sign up to pick-up meal kits with the on-line order form.  This only needs to be done one time.

  • For your convenience, students do not have to be in the car when picking up meals.

Student names will need to be on the list at the pick-up location that is selected when meals are pre-ordered.  We are only allowed to provide one meal kit per child.

Thank you for your support of Franklin County Food Service staff and programs!  We are working hard to ensure that the children of our community are healthy and nourished.  It fills our hearts as we fill their bellies.
