FCS Board holds monthly work session; Kopp announces safety task force and community forum...
Franklin County Schools Supt. Mark Kopp tonight told the Franklin County Board of Education he plans to form a school safety task force in the next week or so to get input on the safety related practices and policies of the Franklin County Schools. Kopp told the board, “Keeping our kids safe is the most important thing we do. We have to make sure we do everything possible to achieve that goal. The members of this task force will represent a cross-section of our school community, and we'll ask for their input on this important issue."
Kopp also said the school district will hold a community meeting soon to engage the public and parents on the issue of school safety. “Parents in particular have the right to ask questions, make suggestions and get answers. We ‘ll be giving them that opportunity soon.” The session has not yet been scheduled but the date, time and location will be announced later this week.
