All students need additional vaccinations and new
immunization certificates before the 2018-2019 school year.
Franklin County Schools students’ families are encouraged to schedule doctor visits as soon as possible because of the new immunization requirements outlined by Kentucky Administrative Regulations 902 KAR 2:060 in covering Hepatitis A and Meningitis B vaccinations.
The first dose of Hepatitis A, which is required for all
unvaccinated students regardless of age, must be received prior to the start of
the 2018-2019 school year. Hepatitis A
is a two-dose vaccine that requires six months between each shot. Both shots are required to be completed prior
to February 15, 2019.
Students 16 or older will need to have the Meningitis B
The state requires ALL students to bring in a new
immunization certificate for the upcoming school year. Families should contact
their physicians or health department for more information.
Families are encouraged to submit their updated immunization
certificates beginning immediately for next year.
