This updated version of yesterday's post clarifies the new immunization requirements for all Kentucky students: As the 2018-19 school year approaches (opening day for students is Wednesday, August 15!), Franklin County Schools students' families are encouraged to schedule doctor visits as soon as possible because of new immunization requirements outlined by Kentucky Administrative Regulations.

The Franklin County Public Schools is once again providing free meals for children under 18 years of age as part of the Summer Food Service Program for children. Meals will be provided at no cost to all children under 18 years of age between Monday, June 4, 2018 and Friday, August 3, 2018.

All Franklin County Schools will be closed Friday, Jan 12 in anticipation of the winter storm that is expected to arrive around mid-day Friday. After School Programs (“ASPs”) will be open as normal during the day, closing at 3 p.m. unless conditions warrant an earlier closing.

The 1st Annual Franklin County Schools Salvation Army Red Kettle day is Thursday, December 21st! On this day, all ten Salvation Army red kettles around the city of Frankfort will have bell ringers representing only the faculty, staff, students, and families of our Franklin County schools. If you would like to get involved and do some valuable community service, sign up for a one or two hour shift anytime from 10am to 8pm on December 21st.
