What is Prince John going to do about that scoundrel Robin Hood who has been robbing from the rich and stealing from the poor? Join Hearn Elementary School’s Drama department as they embark on a journey through Medieval Nottingham. Could Robin Hood be what their fair country needs? Come find out at Hearn Elementary on Friday, March 24th and Saturday, March 25th at 7pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students. The students have been hard at work and can’t wait to take you on an adventure that is fun for all ages!

Alina N., a 5th grader at Bridgeport Elementary School, competed at the Regional KJHS History Day competition at the University of Louisville on March 18. Ally entered the youth exhibit category with her project, “Willa Chappell: Flying in the Face of Social Norms”, and has advanced to State History Day competition on April 22 at the University of Kentucky.

The Franklin County Board of Education recently revised the school calendar to reflect days used to make-up for inclement weather. The last day of school for students is Thursday, May 25, with graduation slated for Sunday, May 28. School Subjects, a monthly television show with Supt. Chrissy Jones, is now available for viewing online. This month we meet new school board member Justin Watterson and discuss changes to the school calendar. We also review two school-related bills that are being debated in the General Assembly and we learn about the district's early childhood initiatives to support parents of children from birth to age five. We also meet two outstanding students who will be attending the prestigious Gatton Academy next fall. Watch it now.
