Peaks Mill Elementary School continued its Classroom Academy March 8, welcoming a group of 22 parents into 5th grade classrooms to observe the process of teaching and learning. The academy is part of a school-wide effort to help parents better understand what goes on in the classroom, and to allow those parents an opportunity to ask questions and share suggestions. Peaks Mill Principal Dana Blankenship said the program is aimed at building stronger relationships between parents and the school. Parents must apply to participate, as only a limited number of observers can be accommodated in each classroom at any one time.
