Summer Reading!

Don't forget to check backpacks for BPE's Summer Reading Program where we remind students to STAY COOL...READ! Your child can keep track of their reading this summer and earn cool treats from Dairy Queen and other rewards from school when they return. Students also have access to many wonderful programs over the summer to keep their minds active. There are even a couple of fun activities that students can do to have a chance at winning fall book fair prizes!!!

(This program can be used in conjunction with PSPL's Summer Reading Program. If you cannot locate your child's copy or your child will be a new student for the 2018-2019 school year there are extra copies in the front office at Bridgeport.)

UPDATED: Students need additional vaccinations before the 2018-19 school year....

This updated version of yesterday's post clarifies the new immunization requirements for all Kentucky students: As the 2018-19 school year approaches (opening day for students is Wednesday, August 15!), Franklin County Schools students' families are encouraged to schedule doctor visits as soon as possible because of new immunization requirements outlined by Kentucky Administrative Regulations.

NEW IMMUNIZATION GUIDELINES for the 2018-2019 School Year

There are NEW IMMUNIZATION GUIDELINES for the 2018-2019 school year. All students in preschool through 12th grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school. To meet this requirement, a current Certificate of Immunization Status must be provided to the school showing the dates your child received the two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine. If your child has already received the two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine, he or she will not be required to receive the series again. The Hepatitis A vaccination is administered as a two-dose series with a minimum of 6 months between doses. For students to be compliant with this regulation by the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, students will need to receive their first dose in February 2018. Please contact your healthcare provider for questions regarding your child’s immunization status. More +
