Immunization Clip Art

NEW IMMUNIZATION GUIDELINES for the 2018-2019 School Year

There are NEW IMMUNIZATION GUIDELINES for the 2018-2019 school year. All students in preschool through 12th grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school. To meet this requirement, a current Certificate of Immunization Status must be provided to the school showing the dates your child received the two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine. If your child has already received the two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine, he or she will not be required to receive the series again. The Hepatitis A vaccination is administered as a two-dose series with a minimum of 6 months between doses. For students to be compliant with this regulation by the beginning of the 2018-19 school year, students will need to receive their first dose in February 2018. Please contact your healthcare provider for questions regarding your child’s immunization status. More +

Bridgeport's Born Learning Academy

Bridgeport Elementary is in its second year of the Born Learning Academy grant.  This program is sponsored through United Way and Toyota.  The Born Learning Academy strengthens families of children 0-5 years by short, instructional meetings for parents to help engage their child in learning.  Each meeting is opened with a family dinner.  Afterwards, parents attend a short presentation and children attend a short program that focuses on a learning strategy and activity.  Lastly, parents and children come together to practice what they’ve learned and go home with resources to continue the learning at home.  If you would like to be a part of this, please contact Barbara Mathis: 875-8425 or Barbara.Mathis@franklin.kyschools.us More +

Drop Off Safety

Our parking lot can be a hectic place in the mornings. Please remember the following so we can keep our students, staff members, and parents safe.

• Students cannot be dropped off in the parking lot. If you are in the parking lot area, you must get out and walk your child in the building.
• Please watch for pedestrians in the crosswalk. Teachers on duty will direct you when you need to stop and wait for pedestrians and when you can go. Please, please, please pay attention to those crossing.
• Please do not park in the handicap spots unless you have the proper documentation.
• When dropping off, please do not park or unload in the crosswalk.
• Preschool parents—Please do not park outside of the preschool room. This interferes with traffic flow.

I know everyone is in a hurry and you all have places to be, but we need to be careful so that we can all arrive to our destinations safely.

Thanks for your help!
Stacy Rutledge
Principal
