Hi Everyone! just a quick reminder of our fun next week-for good causes! We want to use these to be sure all of our kids know how to be safe! Enjoy!

Monday-School spirit/tiger - "Roar about making smart choices- no drugs/be safe".

Tues -Wear jeans -" Be a "jeanius", say no to drugs/be safe".

Wed - Dress like a friend or your teacher for Twins day - "Double your efforts to stay drug free/to be safe".

Thurs-Pajamas day-"It's comfy to not do drugs/be safe"

Fri-Halloween Costumes - Say "Boo" to drugs and bullies.
Bridgeport Tiger Times for 10/21/16
Good morning! Yes, we have power-yea! Tricky morning for some places in our district-stay safe! Book fair finishes today-thanks to all who participated/helped and enjoyed Breakfast w/ Books w/ us last Wed am. We had a good Fall Festival-pta is surveying to see how to make it better next year, thanks for sharing your thoughts/suggestions!
Some important things to know for your planning for next week:
Oct 21-report cards come home today. Always contact your child’s teacher if needed.
Oct 24-4:30 pm in the library-rescheduled SBDM meeting-please join us to learn more about how this leadership board makes great decisions for our school. Then switch over @ 5 pm for our monthly pta mtng to hear thoughts on Fall Festival and fundraisers and help plan other great events for our kids this year
Oct 27-5:00-KPREP parent mtng in the library with our counselor, Maggie Farmer. She’ll be giving an over view of how to read your child’s scores and answering general questions. If you’d like to talk personally about your child’s scores please contact her to set up a parent conference.
Oct 28-Happy Halloween festivities in some classes-always watch your child’s classroom newsletter for specific details
11:00-Manners Matters lunch w/ Mrs Lail @ Wendy’s-each month one student is chosen by their teacher who has shown great manners!
12:15-1:10-student council meeting in office conf room w/ Mrs Lail

We’ve had a great week back from break! PTA is getting ready for our Fall Festival-let them know if you want to help!
If your child is participating in a sport here please be sure they have a completed physical on file w/ their coach and the office. We want everyone to be safe so they cannot practice/participate until they get these turned in! Talk w/ your coach if needed!

The library needs your help! The book fair is coming and we need volunteers for the following dates. If you can help please contact Kim McCoy at or send your or your family member’s contact information in with your student and I will call/e-mail you with remaining slots to see if you are available.

You are officially invited to our Bookaneer Book Fair: Where the books are treasure!

Come and purchase great new books to help your child grow as a reader, and help the library purchase new books for students to check out and enjoy.

BPE Collaborates with Artists for Dance Kaleidoscope
Bridgeport Elementary 5th and 2nd graders celebrate the arts with Dance Kaleidoscope Residency Program “Everyday We Write a Dance”. Students had the opportunity to collaborate with the artists to engage in warm-ups, improvisation and creating a community dance piece.

BPE is Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Sept 15th - October 15th
We would like to thank all BPE students and staff who are helping us to celebrate Hispanic Heritage this month.  Please be sure to encourage your child to check out a book from our display and view the wonderful artwork that has been submitted for this celebration.  Please view the slideshow above to learn more about how we are celebrating.   
Student of the Month!
We have had two wonderful Student of the Month Celebrations this year!  If you see these students please congratulate them for winning August and September Student of the Month at Bridgeport Elementary School.

Coming Soon - MAKERSPACES in the Library!
S.T.L.P students began working with makerspace items in the library after school this Thursday.  Students were able to explore and learn by creating.  We look foward to opening these opportunities to all BPE students after fall break.   
Dot Day 2016
We are happy to announce that BPE students were able to make their MARK on the world or at least at Bridgeport on September 15th and 16th.  Please take a minute to view the beautiful artwork that decorates our hallway in the slide show below.

Bridgeport is Collecting Box Tops for Education!

Please continue to look for box tops for education labels on the products that you use.  Send them to school with your child and Mrs. Gosney will send them in for our school to earn $0.10 per label!  We appreciate your help making a difference for our school. 
Understanding Your Child's Grade:
Intermediate Students are grading on the following scale, as defined by the district on Infinite Campus:

A = 92% - 100%

B = 83% - 91%

C = 74% - 82%

D = 65% - 73%

F = 64% - 0%
