BPE Beta Club and Student Council Are Making a Difference!
I am so proud of my Jr Betas for completing our holiday service project We discussed what we could do that would last after the holidays to make a positive difference in our community So… From donated/collected toiletry items we created 55 grab and go bags to share w/ our local homeless/crisis shelters to provide those in need w/ these basic supplies like: soap, /body wash (even some conditioners), tooth paste (even some mouth wash) and other items Betas’ decorated these bags with positive messages “Take care, stay warm, thinking of you, you matter, etc) and happy pictures and tied them w/ a bow. They set up stations to get this all accomplished! Their organization and teamwork was amazing! Thanks to Ms Gosney for delivering them! M For student council-I am really proud of their hard work too: we are hosting a winter wear drive-collecting hats, mittens, gloves etc which will be used here to benefit those who need them We also hosted our 1
annual “Santa Laugh off” as part of our SOM-so fun! They are working hard for SOM to be student-led and yesterday they did a great job! Lots of practice is paying off!
Hour of Code at BPE!
Bridgeport Elementary has been participating in Hour of Code. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been spending time in the library learning about computer programming and practicing writing code. We are proud of our students problem solving skills and hope that they continue to work on these skills at home. To learn more about this program visit www.CODE.org.
LBAR Association Donates Book to Bridgeport's Library
Realtor Missy Winchell visited Bridgeport Elementary Thursday, December 4th to present a book titled The Energy Bus for Kids by Jon Gordon to Bridgeport Elementary's library. Mrs. McCoy with the help of the third grade graciously accepted the donation and look forward to adding such a positive book to the library collection.
Congratulations to BPE October Students of the Month!
We are so proud to share our October Students of the Month with you! They are models for their peers showing respect, responsibility, and being ready to learn daily. They also exhibit the 7 habits. We celebrate their accomplishment and look forward to meeting our November Students of the Month before you know it.
Kentucky Book Fair Field Trip November 14th
Bridgeport second and third graders attended Children's Day at the Kentucky Book Fair on Friday, November 14th where they listened to authors like Debbie Dadey and George Ella Lyon. They also had the opportunity to purchase books from authors and gain their autograph. Our students represented Bridgeport well and we hope that they learned a lot about reading and writing and were inspired to continue both!
Congratulations to BPE's STLP Group Diabetic Youth Unite for Advancing to State!
