Be sure to make time for Summer Reading!
Summer reading is so important because it helps kids to maintain their reading level and comprehension skills. It increases their fluency and improves their vocabulary in addition to being a lot of fun!

Car Rider Safety Concerns
BPS families who bring your children to school in the mornings-  We need your help! We’ve been asked by WHHS to see if we can solve the following safety issues, (I know we can!):

1. Please do not block the entrance to the WHHS parent/visitor drive.

2. Please be sure to stop before you drive straight across from Bridgeport through the WHHS drive to drop off your “big kids”

3. Please do not drive across and up the WHHS front drive as a way to beat the traffic @ the entry by exiting back out onto Doctor’s Drive there if you are not dropping off WHHS kids. They are sharing that folks who are doing this are moving way too rapidly. This is especially concerning since student drivers have to exit their parents’ vehicles on the same side as where these folks are cutting through.

Smart Snack Calculator

Are your kids eating SMART Snacks?
We are working hard to create a healthier environment for our school. Please send healthful snacks to school with your child. We have taken the guessing game out of it for you. Use the smart snack calculator to see how your child's snack measures up!

After School Door Policy:
Info for families about security of building after school- We know everyone continues to want to help us make our building as secure as possible-this month we are sending some reminders:
From 3-3:30 the main office door is still open and monitored by office staff. At 3:30 it is locked. (Sometimes staff is exiting through this door and they check to be sure it is secured behind them. They do not allow anyone to enter as they exit.) If a teacher has a meeting, conference etc scheduled after this, they will come and wait in the office for the parent to arrive and will greet them and escort them to their classroom and then back out the main door.
Families involved w/ Tiger Time use the bus loop door which is monitored by Tiger Time staff.

If a parent who is not picking up a child from Tiger Time comes to the bus loop door the Tiger Time staff contacts the appropriate teacher/staff to come help accordingly.
Sponsors of any after school events have notified each family involved in the event of the particulars of student pickups etc. If questions, contact the given sponsor.
If we are having a school-wide event then a staff member is assigned to monitor the main door.
Thanks for helping us all stay safe. If you have any great ideas please let Mrs. Lail know!
