Bridgeport K-Kids Promoted Kindness in Style
Bridgeport Elementary's Kiwanis Kids Club promoted kindness at our BRAGS celebration to kick off a week of kindness. They had students cheering and learning about kind acts while having fun. Kids were reminded that their actions matter and students/teachers kept track of their kind deeds all week long. We are proud that our Bridgeport students chose to make a difference one kind act at a time!
Bridgeport K-Kids Help Work Towards a World Record!
Bridgeport Elementary K-Kids are helping to earn a Guinness World Record with the 'Most Kind-Hearted Handprints'. Bridgeport school is helping to be part of history! After our participation in the Great Kindness Challenge we collected cut-out and decorated handprints to symbolize our students’ commitment to kindness. We sent these in to be displayed @ a Dignity Health hospital to brighten the spirits of patients and families. Nationally they needed 31,000 handprints to break the record. We are excited to see if we helped make it happen!
Congratulations to BPE'S Aathman B. for Winning the District Spelling Bee!

BPE Beta Club and Student Council Are Making a Difference!
I am so proud of my Jr Betas for completing our holiday service project We discussed what we could do that would last after the holidays to make a positive difference in our community So… From donated/collected toiletry items we created 55 grab and go bags to share w/ our local homeless/crisis shelters to provide those in need w/ these basic supplies like: soap, /body wash (even some conditioners), tooth paste (even some mouth wash) and other items Betas’ decorated these bags with positive messages “Take care, stay warm, thinking of you, you matter, etc) and happy pictures and tied them w/ a bow. They set up stations to get this all accomplished! Their organization and teamwork was amazing! Thanks to Ms Gosney for delivering them! M For student council-I am really proud of their hard work too: we are hosting a winter wear drive-collecting hats, mittens, gloves etc which will be used here to benefit those who need them We also hosted our 1
annual “Santa Laugh off” as part of our SOM-so fun! They are working hard for SOM to be student-led and yesterday they did a great job! Lots of practice is paying off!
BPE Inducts 15 New Beta Club Members
BPE is proud to announce that we have 15 new inducted members. Junior Beta Club is a national service organization where students show leadership, achievement, service, and character. Our Beta Club is composed of 5th graders who perform services within our school like adopting a BETA buddy where they mentor a younger student in addition to other projects that benefit the community as a whole. Congratulations to our new members and their families!
Hour of Code at BPE!
Bridgeport Elementary has been participating in Hour of Code. 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders have been spending time in the library learning about computer programming and practicing writing code. We are proud of our students problem solving skills and hope that they continue to work on these skills at home. To learn more about this program visit www.CODE.org.
