Welcome to the Early Learning Village Library! Miss Lisa Ann, Library Media Specialist, is the School Library Media Specialist for The Early Learning Village. Mrs. Winfrey graduated in 2004 from Western Kentucky University with a Master’s in Library, Media, and Technology. Mrs. Winfrey has a variety of teaching experience but is very excited about the 2017-2018 school year! She feels that the Library is the heart of the school and has many exciting plans for our library! Mrs. Winfrey’s Responsibilities are: - Planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating the school library program - Organizing the library materials, equipment, and facilities for effective and efficient use. - Collaborating with teachers and staff to integrate library services into the curriculum. - Assisting staff and students with technology. - Assisting students with the selections of materials in the Library. Kindergarten students will have library class weekly. This class provides them with the opportunity to integrate fiction and non-fiction books, drama, writing and technology into their world. Students will check out books weekly. Please make sure your child is returning their book each week so they can borrow a new book! A great way for students to remember their library books is having them create the habit of placing their book in their backpack when they are not reading. I hope students are coming home and sharing all their great experiences in the library, it's a GREAT place to be!
Volunteers are needed in the Library!! If you would like to help students locate, select and checkout books, or shelve books, please contact me. Your help is appreciated!!!
