College Fairs

KASBO Scholarship

Kentucky Association of School Business Officials (KASBO) awards $2,500 to three Kentucky high school graduating seniors who will major in business or education.  The deadline for submission is December 14, 2018.  No handwritten applications allowed and do not staple pages together. Burger King McLamore Foundation, Inc.'s mission isi to create brighter futures by empowering individiuals and feeding potential through education and emergency relief.  To apply for a scholarship through the Burger King Scholars program ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 go to https://bk-scholars.comApplication deadline is December 15, 2018.

Study Pug Math Help Scholarship

StudyPug offers an annual $1000 cash scholarship, awarded based on the applicant's essay on a specified math-related topic.  Find more information and application at  Submissions must be uploaded by December 15, 2018.

Scholarships for Student Caregivers

Ron Brown Scholar Program

The Ron Brown Scholar Fund is a 501(c)3 public charity, managed by an independent Board of Trustees. The program was named for the late Secretary of Commerce and inspried by his dedication to public service, focuses on encouraging civic engagement among scholars while promoting academic excellence, community and lifelong interactions. Recipients are young African Americans of outstanding promise who are offered academic scholarships, service opportunities and leadership experiences. Deadline to apply is January 9, 2019.  Applications may be obtained at 

KHSAA Louis Stout Memorial Fund

Student-athletes who excel in athletics, academics, school service and community service can apply for a one-time scholarship of $2,000. Two will be awarded.  Minimum criteria is a 3.5 gpa.  Deadline to apply is January 12, 2019.  The application can be found at

Governor's Scholars for Entrepreneurs

What? 3-week summer program where students develop an innovative product or service.
Who? Students in 9th, 10th, 11th grade. No minimum GPA. No test scores. Students are selected for creativity, skills, and motivation. GSE is a place for creative, free-thinking individuals.
When? June 23 - July 13, 2018
There is no cost to attend GSE. Online application and recommendation form: Application window: November 16, 2018 - January 20, 2019.

Coolidge Scholarship

Any high school JUNIOR who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2019 is eligible to apply for the Coolidge Scholarship which is a full-ride scholarship that covers a student's tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study.  This can be used by recipients at any accredited US college or university.  The main criterion is academic merit.  More information, including the application, is available at  All applications must be received by 5 pm EST, January 23, 2019.  

KY Transportation Scholarship

Two scholarship programs geared toward civil engineering are available from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.  The Civil Engineering Scholarship Program and The Civil Engineering Technology Program   More details and the applications can be found at .  Applications are due February 1, 2019.

UK Student Athletic Trainer Scholarship

Senior students with a 2.75 and above GPA and interested in becoming a student athletic trainer at UK can fill out an application available in the guidance office. Scholarships are available after a student completes one year in the program.  Application due to counselor by February 5, 2019.

Democratic Women's Club Scholarship

The DWC of Franklin County is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior in Franklin County.  Application of the winner of this scholarship will be submitted for the DWC of KY Scholarship (also $1,000).  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be turned in to the Guidance Office no later than February 15, 2019. 

Kentucky Farm Bureau Scholarship

Seniors with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA or a minimum 23 ACT score and who have a parent as a Kentucky Farm Bureau member can apply for the 90 county and state college scholarships which will be awarded by May 21st.  Applications must be postmarked by February 28, 2019, and can be gotten from the Guidance Office or  

KY Association of Professional Educators Scholarships

Applications for the KAPE Family Member Scholarship and KAPE Star Student/Teacher Mentor Scholarship are available in the guidance office.  Student must have a GPA of 3.5 minimum; minimum ACT score of 23 to apply.  Application deadline is March 15, 2018. 

2019 Design a Better Future Scholarship

To demonstrate Honors Graduation's continued belief in students' phenomenal ability to use their learning to better the world around them, Five $10,000 tuition awards will be given. Students will work on a project to help improve their communities.  The top project will also be funded up to $5,000. Deadline for the working strategy plan is March 23, 2019, and the final project is due April 28, 2019.  The link to all of the scholarship information is 

VFW Patriotic Art Award

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary are sponsoring the Youth American Creative Patriotic Art Awards program. Open to students grades 9-12.  More information about the program and the contest application can be found in the guidance office.  Deadline to enter the contest is March 31, 2019. 

Kentucky Federation of Republican Women

The KFRW will seek to grant a $1,500 scholarship in 2019 to a college-bound high school senior girl who has been politically active within the Republican Party during her high school career. The qualified applicant will graduate from a Kentucky high school in 2019, is a registered Republican, and plans to enroll at an accredited college or university in Kentucky.  Applications can be found in the Guidance Office and the deadline to apply is April 1, 2019.

B. Davis Scholarship

The creators of the "Student Award Search Aid" website are offering a scholarship 2017 which can be found at .  You can learn more about applying for scholarships on the website as well.    Scholarship is for $1,000.    Deadline for applications is May 24, 2019.

Franklin County Conservation Scholarship

Ag students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and planning to major in agriculture are encouraged to apply for the Conservation of Natural Resources Scholarship which is available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is June 1, 2019.

ACT for Juniors

The ACT will be given to all juniors on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at the high school.
