KAGC Scholarship

The Kentucky Association of Government Communicators has created a scholarship program to recognize Kentucky high school seniors for their hard work and commitment to both school and community.  A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a senior who intends to study communications or journalism at any post-secondary institution.  Application information and documents required can be found at

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship

The Horatio Alger Association honors the achievements of outstanding individuals in our society who have succeeded in spite of adversity and who are committed to supporting young people in pursuit of increased opportunities through higher education.  Applicants must be a high school senior graduating in Spring 2020; maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA; be a US citizen; demonstrate financial need; be involved in co-curricular and commuity service activities.  For more information and to apply, visit https://scholars.horatioalger.org  - DEADLINE TO APPLY IS OCTOBER 25, 2019.

Voice of Democracy Scholarship Competition

This VFW sponsored competition is open to students in grades 9-12. It is a 3-5 minute audio-essay on the subject "What Makes America Great". First and second place winners will receive $500 and $250 respectively and eligible for district, state and national scholarships.  Deadline to enter is October 31, 2019.  Entry forms are available in the guidance office.

VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award

 Nominate a teacher for this award by describing why you feel your teacher cares about education and America.  Teachers who promote civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism are prime candidates for this award.  Nomination forms are available in the guidance office.  A less than 350-word essay is required.  Deadline is October 31, 2019.

KY Concrete Association Scholarship

The KCA is proud to sponsor the $2,000 Wm. T. Robertson High School Essay Contest which is open to all high school seniors graduating in the 2019-20 school year. Entry forms are available at https://goo.gl/forms/Ujrp07Z0mXkwTTJa2 and must be include your essay "How could concrete be used to make life better for people in your local community?" Deadline to submit is November 4, 2019.

KSU Scholarships

Seniors interested in attending Kentucky State University next year should stop by the Guidance Office for a complete list of their Academic Scholarship Program. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are renewable for subsequent semesters when criteria are met. 

VFW Patriotic Art Award

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and Auxiliary are sponsoring the Youth American Creative Patriotic Art Awards program. Open to students grades 9-12.  More information about the program and the contest application can be found in the guidance office.  Deadline to enter the contest is March 31, 2020. 

Imagine America Foundation
